Executive Board

The management of theInternational Council for Traditions of Music and Dance is vested in the Executive Board, consisting of a President, one or two Vice Presidents (Officers), and nine Ordinary Members, all of whom are elected by the membership of the Council. 

Officers and Ordinary Members are elected for a term lasting until the second Ordinary Meeting of the General Assembly following their election (typically four years). In all cases, a Board Member may serve a maximum of two consecutive or non-consecutive terms as an Ordinary member and a maximum of two consecutive or non-consecutive terms as Officer.

The Executive Board may also co-opt up to three additional Ordinary Members, who retire at the General Assembly immediately following their appointment, and who are eligible for re-appointment. The editor of the Council’s journal is an ex officio member of the Board for the duration of their mandate and is entitled to vote on any matters before the Board.

The Executive Board is governed by ICTMD Statute 7.2, and by the Memorandum on procedural rules of the ICTM Executive Board.
